Trailers – This film, “Enter the Warrior’s Gate” opened in China last year and will be seen here in the US next week. The official synopsis is:
Epic fantasy-adventure meets martial arts action in this thrilling film written by Luc Besson & Robert Mark Kamen. After a mysterious chest opens a gateway through time, teen gamer Jack (Uriah Shelton) is transported to an ancient empire terrorized by a cruel barbarian king (former WWE superstar Dave Bautista). Jack will need all of his gaming skills as he battles to defeat the barbarian, protect a beautiful princess, and somehow find his way back home.
So, this looks like a pure tongue-in-cheek, fun adventure movie. It is hard to say from this 2:05 trailer if it will be any good. I am sure most of the younger teenage gamer boys will want to see it.
Trailer – This is an Australian Science Fiction film, so I am not sure when or if it will make it into theaters in the US. It looks interesting as far as this 1:54 trailer goes. The official synopsis of the movie is:
Set in the future in a time of interplanetary colonisation, Sy (Kellan Lutz), a mysterious drifter, meets Kane (Daniel MacPherson), a lieutenant working for an off-world military contractor, EXOR. The unlikely pair must work together to rescue Kane’s young daughter (Teagan Croft) and reach safety amid an impending global crisis which was brought on by EXOR itself. Teaming up with a pair of renegades (Luke Ford and Isabel Lucas), Kane and Sy clash with EXOR in an attempt to escape while battling the savage creatures that roam the barren planet.
If it is truly any good it will eventually turn up somewhere we can watch it.
Trailers – I’m not much of a comics person, but I have enjoyed the worlds that Marvel has taken us to in their movies. This film, “Thor:Ragnarok”, takes us back to the Avengers Universe and to Thor.
While not much is shown in this trailer, Thor seems to have a hard time ahead. We catch a glimpse of Loki, but it is hard to tell how much of a part he plays. Also seen are Hela and even, strangely, The Incredible Hulk.
This looks to be a good addition to Marvel’s Universe. I’m looking forward to the film when it premiers November 3.
Trailers – Interesting British spy thriller set during the cold war, full of action with Charlize Theron playing the lead role. The story line is “An undercover MI6 agent is sent to Berlin during the Cold War to investigate the murder of a fellow agent and recover a missing list of double agents.”
The movie certainly seems to have a lot of action scenes. It might be something to watch for when it premiers July 28.
Trailers – WWII – Between May 26 and June 4, 1940, during the early days of World War II, the British Expeditionary Force was surrounded in France. They had come to the mainland to stope Hitler, instead, they and their French and Belgian allies were overrun. They retreated towards the port of Dunkirk near the border with Belgium.
Germany had sought to surround them and force them to surrender. They fought on and over the eight days of the Dunkirk evacuation more than 338,000 men were able to make their escape to the UK. The rescue flotilla was made up of over 800 boats – both military and civilian – that risked the wrath of the German Army and Luftwaffe to bring the men home.
This movie. which opens July 21. tells the story of the evacuation. From what little this trailer shows, this looks like it might be a pretty good movie about World War II.
Trailers – The SyFy Channel has ordered a pilot for a new series “The Machine”. This will be a TV series based on the 2013 movie of the same name, the trailer for which is shown above.
The concept will be that the world is being transformed by the emergence of Artificial Intelligence. While we are not there yet, our society is in the process of being massively changed by the growing introduction of robots, AI and Automation. The series will show the struggle between the emergent AI and humanity.
This might be a good series if it makes it through to production.
Trailers – This looks to be a different, and darker view of the King Arthur legend. It reminds me a lot (from this short 2:40 clip) of the “The Return of the King”. It looks to weave magic and medieval combat into the battle scenes. This might be an interesting new view on King Arthur and Excalibur. We will get to find out soon as this fantasy movie opens May 12.
Trailers – The newest vision of the Mummy will appear on the big screen June 9. This time Tom Cruise has the lead male role in the battle with supernatural forces.
This short (2:35) trailer is full of action. The Mummy once again is unearthed in the Middle East, then moves to terrorize modern day London. This could be an interesting movie.
Trailers – By now we have all see “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” at least once. I think I’ve seen it four times now.
This isn’t a trailer as much as it is a look behind the filming of the movie. While this short (2:56) video doesn’t really reveal much, it is a different look with a couple of brief scenes that I think got left on the cutting room floor.
In any case, if you like Star Wars you will want to see it.
Trailer – A trailer is out for the next season of “Game of Thrones” and it is titled “Long Walk”. Season 7 begins on July 16. Glimpses of the three main characters, Cersei Lannister, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, are shown walking through their domains in the trailer.
Not much is really revealed in this short (1:32) video. My wife and I avidly await this coming season. It is hard to believe that just over a dozen episodes remain in the series. There are so many plot threads that have yet to be wrapped up and explained.
