Podcast – BBC World Service Witness World War II

(See my other Podcast related posts) – I only found and began listening to the BBC World Service Witness World War II podcast a short time ago. As they say on their website: More than 50 first-hand accounts of significant moments in WW2. Looking back at almost six years of global conflict, from Hiroshima to the Holocaust.

These are relatively short podcasts and there are actually far more than 50 available. It is more like 110+ episodes. Most episodes are 9 minutes long. They began December 10, 2010 with the last one airing November 6, 2019. They are in no particular order and cover the entire WWII period.

If you are interested in WWII period of history you will enjoy these podcasts.

If you are interested in the WWII era of history, you may find these three pages of interest.

  • The “World War II Sources” page is a constantly growing collection of more than 490 links to museums, memorials, websites, Facebook pages, Twitter feeds, and other sources with information on the World War II-era in history.
  • The “World War II Timeline” page expands almost daily and shows events leading up to WWII, as well as during the war. Events are broken down into the Pacific and European Theaters by date.
  • The About WWII page is a collection of links to posts that I have made over the years that are relevant to WWII.
