FREE iOS, tvOS AND macOS SOFTWARE for 02/2019

I have been publishing a list of free software for iOS, tvOS and OS X each month.  You may find some of these programs of interest. I have also attempted to mark which Apple OS the title is targeted at (iOS, macOS, tvOS) as well as the category of the App.

This is NOT a curated list. All I know about these titles is what you see below. None have been tried or tested by me.

February 2019

  1. iOS/Entertainment – We have all been in that familiar situation where we feel like going out on the spur of the moment and we just can’t seem to figure out what’s good around us, how expensive the options are, what’s the crowd going to be like and more importantly what’s happening at the venues we have just Googled. Flipsyde 1.6 is free and is available worldwide through the App Store in the Entertainment category. Download from App Store
  2. iOS/Finance – Planning for the future does not have to be daunting. Not when you have the right tools at your disposal and you are committed to investing in your future. While many investors use personal financial advisors to help them create a plan and then execute it, several of us don’t have the time or wish to pay for the expense involved in having a personal advisor. For those of you who are looking for a better way to make smart investments, consider The Money Pouch. Free on the App Store.
  3. macOS/Utility – Searchware Solutions has announced the release of Print Window 5.4 for macOS, an update to their simple but powerful file listing utility. Print Window works seamlessly with the macOS Finder, allowing users to generate and print a file listing of folders using several different methods including a simple key command, the Status menu, the Dock menu, or drag and drop. Print Window 5.2 is available in two versions through Searchware Solutions online. The Standard Edition is free. The Advanced Edition, which provides more features, is $20.00 (USD) for a single-user license. Download Print Window
  4. iOS/Productivity – Ok, so the app won’t actually get your tasks done for you, but this app can make it easier for you to do what you’ve wanted to do for a long time. Let’s say you have wanted to get back into your exercise routine but have not been able to commit. You might be staring at that credit card bill and thinking “I need to shop smarter.” Whatever the case, the app you need is LazyHabit. Available for free from the App Store.
  5. iOS/Games – Not all games require you to defend and destroy. There are some games out there that actually test your reaction time. The one I’m focusing on requires you to type a sequence of keys on a keyboard, as they appear on the screen, so as to “break” them, or remove them from your screen. The game is called Breakage, and while you won’t be shooting at or destroying anything, it can certain provide some great entertainment while also boosting your instincts and reaction to better your performance in other games. Free from the App Store.
  6. iOS/Health & Fitness – Key of Life, a mobile application for patients to keep medical records in one place, has officially launched in the Apple Store and Google Play Store. Key of Life allows patients to take control of their healthcare by creating a single, digital location to store all information regarding medications, lab results, health history, radiology, and more, that can be shared with anyone they choose. Key Of Life’s entrance into the app world dramatically improves the healthcare industry by enabling users to quickly access all medical records for a smooth transaction to their healthcare providers.
