Trailers – This is a film adaptation of a popular Japanese manga and anime of the same name. The synopsis is:
Based on Hiromu Arakawa’s beloved action-fantasy manga of the same name, Fullmetal Alchemist is set in an Edwardian-style world where alchemy is a science, and State Alchemists work for the government. The story centers on brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, who as children turn to the forbidden human transmutation to try to resurrect their death mother. That effort goes horribly wrong, destroying Alphonse’s body and severely injuring Edward, who then sacrifices his arm to rescue his brother’s soul and bind it to a suit of armor. Becoming State Alchemists, the brothers set off in search of the legendary Philosopher’s Stone to restore their bodies.
The film is in Japanese with English subtitles. The film opens in Japan in December 2017, no word yet of a US showing. It is hard to say from this trailer what the full movie would be like. Personally I am not a fan of subtitles – you can’t read AND watch the movie.
