Trailers – “What Happened to Monday” was originally known as “Seven Sisters”. is a UK film set to debut in late August 2017 in France. The US release is simply stated as 2017, though apparently Netflix has streaming rights to the film after its theater run. The synopsis of the film is:
2073. The Earth is overpopulated. The government decided to introduce a one-child policy, applied by the Birth Control Board, under the aegis of Nicolette Cayman (Glenn Close). Confronted with the birth of seven-fold, Terrence Settman (Willem Dafoe) decides to keep the existence of his 7 granddaughters secret. Confined to their apartment, each day they will have to share a unique identity outside, simulating the existence of one person: Karen Settman (Noomi Rapace). If the secret remains intact for years, everything collapses on the day when Monday mysteriously disappears.
Yes this is a little like Orphan Black with, in this case, seven identical twin girls. Because of the government restrictions, the girls grow up in hiding, with only one going out of their home at a time on their ‘name day’ (i.e. the girls are named Sunday, Monday, etc.). The movie has possibilities.
