I came across the article “Use This Mini Thesaurus Of Action Verbs To Improve Your Lame Resume” yesterday. I thought it was very interesting that it suggests that we can increase the impact of what we are writing or saying by simply changing a few words.
The author the article suggests making these simple changes:
|talked, led, presented||addressed, corresponded, persuaded, publicized, reconciled|
|organized, ordered, filed||catalogued, executed, monitored, operated|
|led, handled, oversaw||consolidated, appointed, delegated, established|
While this article was written with resumes in mind, I think it could just as well be applied to our writing or public speaking.
