Book Review – “Tier One” eBook was published in 2016 and was written by Brian Andrews (http://www.andrews-wilson.com). He, and co-author Jeffrey Wilson, have published four novels together. Mr. Andrews has two solo publications and Mr. Wilson one.

I received an ARC of this novel through https://www.netgalley.com in return for a fair and honest review. I categorize this novel as ‘R’ because it contains scenes of Violence and Mature Language. The story takes place in roughly our current time. The primary character is Jack Kemper, a US Navy SEAL.

Terrorists have set a trap which becomes a disaster for the SEALS Tier One teams. Kemper is drawn out of the role as a shooter on the teams and into the role of spy. He has trouble making the adaption as he is used to kicking down doors.

I really enjoyed the 9 hours I spent with this 402 page Thriller. I liked the characters and look forward to more in this series. I already have the sequel “War Shadows” in my queue of books to read. The cover art, while not specific to the story, certainly gives you an indication of the action to be found between the covers. I give this novel a 4.5 (rounded up to a 5) out of 5.

My book reviews are also published on Goodreads (https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/31181778-john-purvis).
