There are lots of ‘National Days’, one source I follow cites more than 1200. Today is one that I think all of us should recognize and take action – National Clean Out Your Computer Day. National Clean Out Your Computer Day is always the second Monday in February. It has been celebrated since 2000 when it was instituted by the Institute for Business Technology.
We all let files accumulate on our computers. Every once in a while (like today) it is a good idea to get rid of files we no longer need. So with this in mind take some time today to:
- Clean off your Desktop
- Organize your files and folders.
- Delete junk files.
- Delete duplicate files.
- Delete old files and programs (if you have a Mac, try AppDelete) not being used.
- Empty your Trash
If you have a Mac, then I go into more detail as to how you can free up disk space in my article “Tuneup Your OS X Mac Part 2“.
