A Street Full of Books

An ‘art’ project filled a Toronto street with 10,000 glowing books (the books were donated by the Salvation Army) one night early in October. iIt was done as part of the Suit Blanche Toronto 2016 art festival. The Spanish artist group Luzinterruptus along with volunteers spend 12 days preparing the display.

Pedestrians were encouraged to examine the books and take any that they wanted home. In about 10 hours most of the books had been claimed. The video above is a time lapse taken of the event.

Clearly the printed word has an affect on people.
