If you follow my blog you know I like coffee. I came across the article “Why you should care when your coffee was roasted” this morning and I thought it contained many good points of interest to the coffee drinker.
The essence of the article:
- Coffee needs 3-7 days after roasting to ‘degass’ for best flavor
- Coffee goes stale when exposed to the oxygen in the air
- The best coffee flavor is going to come from whole beans freshly ground
- When buying coffee beans the roast date is important
So what it is saying is pick your favorite bean or blend of beans, buy directly from the roaster, then grind just before brewing for the best flavor.
