Book Reviews – “Rhodi’s Light” eBook was published in 2016 and was written by Megan Linski (http://www.meganlinski.com). Ms. Linski has published 14 novels.

I received a galley of this novel for review through https://www.netgalley.com. I categorize this novel as ‘PG’ because it contains scenes of Violence. The story is set in an unidentified time and place. The countries mentioned in the story do not match any on Earth.

The primary character is 15 year old Dyliana “Dylan” Fairssson. She and her brother, Devin are orphaned after their parent die in an auto accident. They are taken in by the Rhodi and are begun to be trained in their ways. The Rhodi use both martial arts and magic for the good of society.

Before long there are confrontations with the Rhodi’s sworn enemies, the Hunter’s Guild. There are only a handful of Rhodi left in the world and the Hunter’s Guild wants to extinguish them for good. The Fairsson twins train hard, but they have much to learn. Before long they discover that Dylan has been cutting herself. She has to deal with how to overcome this urge. The twins also learn that as Rhodi they each have a “craft” or magic skill that they can develop and use in their struggle with the Hunters.

This is an OK Young Adult Fantasy novel. It was a pretty quick 5.5 hour read for the 204 pages. I thought this was a little on the odd side since it is so vague as to time and place. The cover art is interesting, but I am not sure how it ties in with the story. I give this novel a 3.4 (rounded down to a 4) out of 5.

My book reviews are also published on Goodreads (https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/31181778-john-purvis).
