Story Review of “The Enchanted Rib”

“The Enchanted Rib” was published in 2014 and was written by George Roberts. This is Mr. Roberts first publication.

I obtained a galley of this novel for review through https://www.netgalley.com. I would categorize this Romantic Fantasy short story as ‘G’.

This is primarily the story of James Sanford and two women he comes to know. Sanford runs into Jane Aston while at a art/antique show. They become friends and soon Sanford is introduced to Jane’s friend Lavinia. Sanford and Lavinia turn out to be saviors of an ancient city, lovers who were torn apart and are now reunited.

I have little to say about this story. It took about 90 minutes to read and at that I feel it was time I was cheated out of. The characters seemed stilted and stiff. The plot meandered and I do not feel there was much point to the story. I give this novel a 1 out of 5.

My book reviews are also published on Goodreads (https://www.goodreads.com).
