Book Review of “Olympus”

“Olympus” was published in 2014 and was written by James Ashton. Mr. Ashton has written three novels.

I was alerted by http://booksends.com that this Thriller novel was available for free on Amazon. I would categorize this novel as ‘R’ as there is Mature Language and Violence. The novel is written in the first person and is set primarily in contemporary Canada. The primary character is Peter York.

York is an former journalist and is called into the hospital to see his former boss, William Ardell. Ardell asks York to use his investigative journalist skills to find a woman who had earlier visited Ardell in the hospital. At first York resists, but he is enticed by the offer of $500,000.

York reluctantly allows Ariel’s daughter to assist with his investigation, and he soon finds that he ha feeling of the young woman. They are soon facing murder and conspiracy.

There did seems to be quite a few editorial errors with the copy of the book that I read, and it seemed a little “loose”. I overall did enjoy the 6.5 hours I spent reading the novel. As with most Thrillers, there were many twists and turns in the plot. I give this novel a 4 out of 5.

My book reviews are also published on Goodreads (https://www.goodreads.com).
